Wisdom Teeth Removal
Our dentist examines your mouth and takes X-rays to evaluate the position and condition of the wisdom teeth. Then, we arrange a date for the procedure to take place, or in emergencies, we can proceed right away.
A Local anaesthetic is administered to numb the area. In some cases, general anaesthesia or IV sedation is used for better comfort levels.
If the tooth is impacted, an incision is made in the gum to expose the tooth, and sometimes the surrounding bone is also removed.
The tooth is then loosened and carefully extracted. If necessary, the tooth may be sectioned into smaller pieces for easier removal.
The extraction spot is cleaned to remove remaining debris. Stitches may be necessary if an incision was made.
Gauze will be applied to control bleeding. You’ll also receive instructions to manage any pain, avoid infection, and promote faster healing.
